Anxiety can be a lonely road to walk.
You may frequently feel misunderstood.
Perhaps you’ve been told, “You just overthink things” or “You worry too much” and felt dismissed by such explanations and platitudes.
Or maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of anger, judgment or even contempt to the point you no longer feel safe sharing your deepest feelings.
Ephesians 1:6 reminds us of how accepted we are in the Beloved.
This acceptance encompasses all of us, even our anxiety.
Jesus has deep affection for us. He doesn’t judge us or tell us to get over our anxiety. He is infinitely patient with us.
No striving for love or grace is required. We simply stand and relax in His goodness.
It is when we feel most loved and accepted that we summon the courage for change.
He longs to partner with us and bring us to wholeness. We are totally accepted by God and have complete access.
Being loved by God is therefore our starting point for transformation.
For the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught – Proverbs 3:26.
God is our most powerful ally in the universe.
